Snoop Taggy-Tag!

Name your top five MUSIC VIDEOS of ALL TIME. Then do the whole tagging thing to five other people so the joy can be distributed throughout the country. And yes, this is my singing voice. It's not irony. It's not rock n roll. We're just talking to the kids.

GO:

Two by Spike Jonze, who needs no introduction:
1) "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim.
2) "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim. (Sorry to include two of the same artist and director, but I can't help it)

3) "Coffee & TV" by Blur
4) "Bachelorette" by Bjork
5) "Take on Me" by A-Ha. (Cliche. I know. I don't care! It's cool.)

Is Bachelorette the only Michel Gondry video anyone's posted so far? Weird. "Just" nudged "Sugar Water" off of my list.

Me "too," actually. I felt I had to put both Spike Jonze ones, but I didn't want to also have two Gondry ones, for some reason. "Sugar Water" ties my mind up into mind knots, but I think I actually enjoy "Bachelorette" more.

GO:

1) "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim. Have to copy you on that one. That has to be the funniest video I've ever seen.
2) "Dancing with Myself" by Billy Idol. One of the first videos I ever saw. It made absolutely no sense, but damn, it was cool.
3) "Shadrach" by Beastie Boys. It's just cool.
4) Tie: "Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen. Sweet drum solo to open, and David Lee Roth corrupting minors to close. "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. Niedermeyer gets his comeuppance, again.
5) "Fell in Love with a Girl" by White Stripes. Need I justify?

That A-Ha video is definitely amazing in terms of technical achievement. A pure classic of the early MTV Generation.

"I want my MTV!"

Indeed. You should check out Taylor's DVDs of Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry music vids. GREAT stuff. Especially "Weapon of Choice," if you haven't seen that one before. Walken!
